Use of the Site
You may use the Site lawfully and within its intended scope. You may not attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its infrastructure, submit automated or abusive form traffic, or misuse the contact channels.
Content and intellectual property
Except where noted, the original text and materials on this Site are © SHEMIM and made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license: you may share and adapt them for non-commercial purposes under that license, including its attribution and notice requirements. “SHEMIM®” and associated marks are the property of SHEMIM and are not licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0; trademark rights are reserved. Third-party materials remain subject to their own rights and licenses.
Submissions
If you send us a message or proposal, you confirm you are entitled to share its contents. We treat submissions as described in the Privacy Policy.
Donations and recurring contributions
Donations are handled through the embedded Donorbox form and its payment providers, whose applicable terms and notices also govern their services. The form has Monthly selected by default. Review the amount, currency, frequency, and any fees shown in the form before confirming. A recurring selection authorizes repeat contributions on the interval you confirm, rather than a single contribution.
SHEMIM is a registered U.S. nonprofit corporation. It has not applied for federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are not represented as tax-deductible.
Recurring-gift cancellation and refund inquiries
Cancellation instructions depend on the payment method. Donorbox's donor guide to managing recurring contributions describes managing Stripe-based plans through a Donorbox donor account and cancelling PayPal-based plans through PayPal. Follow the instructions for your plan and check the cancellation status with the relevant service. Contact mail [at] shemim.org if you need help identifying a contribution or reaching the appropriate support channel. Sending an inquiry to SHEMIM is not itself confirmation that a recurring plan has been cancelled.
For a mistaken contribution or a refund request, contact mail [at] shemim.org with enough information to identify the transaction, such as the date and receipt reference. Do not email full payment card or bank details. Cancelling a recurring plan does not automatically refund earlier contributions. These Terms do not guarantee a refund or a particular processing time, and do not limit any rights you have under applicable law.

The Site provides research and educational information, not personal medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SHEMIM is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where you are a consumer with mandatory protections in your country of residence, those protections still apply.
Changes
We may update these Terms and will post the revised version here with an updated date. Updates remain subject to applicable law.
