SHEMIM aims to make shemim.org accessible to the widest possible audience.
Our target and current status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We do not claim verified full conformance across the site. Implemented features and individual checks do not establish that every page, interaction, theme, or assistive-technology combination meets every applicable requirement.
The Accessibility Assistant
The Accessibility Assistant, opened with the “Accessibility settings” control,
offers text size, high contrast, and reduce motion
settings for the site's own interface. Choices are remembered in localStorage when
your browser permits it, and “Reset to defaults” clears these saved accessibility choices.
These controls are preferences, not an automated accessibility repair or a guarantee of
conformance. They do not necessarily change third-party forms or payment dialogs.
Features implemented in the site's own interface
- A skip-to-content link and page landmarks.
- Native buttons and labeled form fields, with status messages for form interactions.
- Focus styles and light, dark, and high-contrast presentation options.
- Reduced-motion styles and controls, including support for
prefers-reduced-motion. - Responsive layouts and adjustable text size.
These are descriptions of features in the implementation, not a statement that keyboard use, screen-reader output, contrast, text enlargement, or reflow has been comprehensively verified in all states.
Known limitations and third-party interfaces
The Donorbox donation form, its payment dialogs, and Cloudflare's form-verification interface are supplied by third parties. We have not verified the complete donation checkout flow for keyboard navigation, screen readers, zoom, contrast, or error recovery. The embedded donation form may require horizontal scrolling on narrow screens. Our theme and accessibility settings do not guarantee that these third-party interfaces will follow the same presentation or behavior.
