shemim.org uses browser storage for preferences and offline pages, and external services may use cookies or similar technologies. Not all of this storage is a cookie, and not all of it is controlled by the analytics banner.
Preferences stored in your browser
The following preferences use localStorage, not cookies. The site gives these
entries no automatic expiry; they remain until changed, reset, or cleared by you or your browser.
If storage is blocked or cleared, choices may not be remembered between visits.
consent-analytics- Remembers whether you granted or denied analytics. The banner appears when no choice is stored.
theme- Remembers your light or dark theme selection.
a11y-text-size,a11y-contrast,a11y-reduce-motion- Remember selections in the Accessibility Assistant. Its “Reset to defaults” control clears these accessibility preferences.
Offline page and asset storage
On the public site, a service worker uses the browser's Cache Storage to save an offline shell and cache same-origin GET responses, including pages and assets. It does not cache form submissions or requests to third-party origins. This cache is separate from cookies and is not enabled or disabled by the analytics choice. A new cache version can replace older caches; you can remove cached site data through your browser's site-data controls.
Cloudflare security and form verification
Cloudflare may set security cookies depending on its configuration and the security features
used for a request. Names such as __cf_bm and cf_clearance are
examples, not a statement that these cookies are set on every visit or required to read every page.
The Turnstile script loads on our contact and collaboration form pages, processes verification
information, and supplies a short-lived token for the server-side submission check.
Blocking verification can prevent a form from being submitted. See
Cloudflare's cookie documentation.
Delivered pages also contain Cloudflare browser security checks and a Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon added by the hosting configuration. These are separate from the Google analytics choice. Our current Content Security Policy blocks that beacon from loading; its presence in page source is not evidence that browser analytics was successfully collected. Cloudflare's delivery and security processing remains separate from the consent banner.
Analytics: loaded after acceptance
We load Google Analytics 4, and Google Tag Manager if configured, only after you
accept analytics or have a saved acceptance. Google Analytics may set cookies such
as _ga and _ga_<id> to distinguish browsers and measure usage.
Their presence and lifetime depend on the service's settings and your browser; this page does
not specify a verified cookie lifetime or analytics-retention period.
Embedded donation form
The embedded Donorbox form loads automatically on our donation page, connecting your browser to Donorbox and its service providers before a donation is submitted. They may use cookies or similar technologies for donation functionality, payment security, fraud prevention, and other purposes described in Donorbox's Privacy Policy and the relevant payment provider's notices. This loading is separate from your choice about SHEMIM's analytics; declining analytics does not block the donation embed or control its providers' storage.
Changing your analytics choice
Open Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the banner. Choose
Accept analytics to enable it, or Decline to save a denied
choice. Declining disables the site's Google Analytics measurement, signals denied analytics
consent to a loaded Google tag, and attempts to remove known first-party analytics cookies
(_ga, _ga_*, _gid, and _gat*).
If analytics tags were already loaded, the page will reload so they are not injected again.
This does not erase data already collected, and it does not remove third-party cookies or storage. It also does not clear theme or accessibility preferences, offline caches, or security and payment storage. You can use your browser's controls to block or clear cookies and site data; doing so may reset choices or interrupt form verification and donation functionality.
